Sir Ken Dodd, comedian, died on March 11th, aged 90.
The first thing the manager said to me was, “Crackon, Dodd. I’ve got this theatre cleared by 2am.” I told him, “Looks like we’ll have to do the second half outside the town hall, then”. – “Are you looking at your watch, sir? You don’t need a watch, you need a calendar. We should be finished by Tuesday.” “The sooner you laugh at jokes, the sooner you can go home. But they say, the breakfast here is good.” – “This isn’t television, Mrs. You can’t turn me off.”
